The HAY BAR system was originally devised to help a show hunter brood mare suffering from pneumonia. It encouraged her to eat from the floor and as a result helped drain down her airways. The mare recovered and we soon realised the HAY BAR system had numerous advantages.
- HAY BAR aids digestion as the forage is taken more slowly.
- HAY BAR saves waste, as the forage is far less likely to mix with the bedding.
- Mares, foals and youngstock benefit, as the HAY BAR is far safer than nets or racks.
- HAY BAR is quicker and easier to fill (even by a small child) and hence saves precious time.
